2:57am Monday, couldn’t sleep, so I got on line and lo and behold, here at last, a Skype app for the iPhone. After hearing that cut and paste would be available this summer in version 3.0 I thought all was right in the world. Well apparently, all is right in the universe because this app is supposed to be available at the iTunes store on Tuesday… oh my, that’s tomorrow! What shall I wear?
Could this be a hoax? April 1 is just around the corner. But CNET, engadget, The WSJ, and others say it’s so. Would they all conspire for such a cruel April Fool’s joke? I don’t know if my poor heart could take it if it’s joke. They all say “it’s official”, “it’s confirmed”, it must be so. Read Full Article & Comments…
It’s Friday and Terry is doing well, my job is done, so I’m homeward bound. Did the chores this morning, packed, stoked the fire one last time, and said my goodbyes, and was on the road by 11:30. It was an uneventful but pleasant sunny nine hour drive home.
The weather got gloomy just as I started to cross the Cascade Mountains, which are also the most windy section of the drive. Left hairpin, right hairpin, up, down, left again; it’s maddening I tell you.
No problems at the border and I was home at 8:30. Now, what to do, what to do.
I’m still here at Terry’s place above Kootenay Lake near Nelson, BC. It’s been one week since I brought her home from the hospital after her knee replacement surgery and her recovery has been amazing. She’s been doing her exercises, she’s up and around, but she’s been a little too ambitious. Last night she had a hankerin for cheese cake so we went to the bakery. It was a clear night and the stars were out and brilliant; not much light pollution here, it was a sight to behold.
It’s hard getting her to slow down, the little bugger, and she’s paying for it this morning. Bit of a setback, she had a rough night and is in a lot of pain today. So, she’s been scolded; she hung her head low and stuck out her lower lip, but that has no affect on me. I’m tormenting her a little now, I’ve got her all drugged up and I won’t let her go to sleep. Eh, serves her right.
Today is a beautiful blue sky sunny day. I got a hike in yesterday and I’m getting ready for another today. It’s strange leaving the house in the snow and hiking down to the lake where there is none, and then back up the mountain to the snow again.
Later:
Got back from the hike down the mountain, along the lake road and back up the mountain. Felt good, but got blisters, dang. My kingdom for a good pair of hiking shoes. Just had supper and we’re settling in for the evening. Terry is doing better. I’ll probably head home tomorrow.

First thing this morning was an exercise session with bending, hyper extending and strengthening reps. She tolerated it fairly well. Had a little breakfast, showered, etc. and was on the road by noon for the Hospital in Trail where I picked up the computer and ran a couple of other errands and made my way back stopping in Nelson, the closest real town, to pick up groceries. The whole trip took a little over six hours and I’m exhausted. Made dinner and then we went to pick up Ricky, Terry’s cat. I’m trying to get a connection on my PC but no luck. So, I’m having to use Terry’s PC and transfer files back and forth old school.

Terry’s doing a good job with her exercises and is coming along nicely. She still needs plenty of pain meds though. It’s neat out here. Terry lives up on a hill above Kootenay Lake. It’s pretty primitive. I have to start the fire in the stove first thing in the morning and keep it going during the day. It’s the sole source of heat. The farm pictured here is next door and is where we get our eggs. Stayed Read Full Article & Comments…
I’d like to introduce Brett Kopf, a Michigan State Senior, a real go getter who is doing independent study on social media and how it can link data, people and ideas for the greater good, He’s out there preaching the word; this kid is going to take the world by storm. We stumbled upon each other as we were each developing our own blog sites and we helped each other out and we’ve been corresponding ever since.
Ford is having a contest where they will give 100 Ford Fiestas to those selected for six months to travel the country and have adventures and use social media to document the trip. I can’ think of anyone more deserving of a shot.
Please click the link below to go to Brett’s site and view his application video. Then, please leave a comment on his post for Ford to see. The more comments the better.
